AS KANTOR OF ORKDAL, NOVEMBER 1986 - SEPTEMBER 1991:

Conducting Gjølme blandakor - a mixed choir of about 30 voices singing sacred and secular music.

Conducting Orkla korforening - a regional representasjonskor (representative choir) for the Orkla og Gauldal sangerforbund (an association of some 45 choirs and 1500 singers). This choir drew its members from ordinary associate-choirs of the sangerforbund and, apart from pursuing its own concert programme, represented the forbund at special events. This choir had about 45 members and generally performed works beyond the capability of the single associate-choirs.

Directing regional choral seminars for the Orkla og Gauldal sangerforbund. This involved gathering all the singers in the region together (about 350), instructing them in new pieces, and then conducting these pieces at the annual choral festivals.

Founded and organised the Orkdal korfest - a choral workshop. This attracted 400 participants and was broadcast on regional and national radio.

Founded and conducted the Orkdal prestegjeldkor (a combined parishes choir).

Founded and conducted the Orkdal prostikor (an archdeaconry choir).

Conducted Orkla orkesterforening - an orchestral society.

Jointly organised with Orkdal Municipal Music School, and conducted regional orchestral seminars.

Undertook sundry free-lance conducting engagements.

The activities described above were, and are underpinned by administrative and budgeting help and advice, engaging soloists and, as necessary, arranging and composing music.
