Philip Norman Notices
For all funeral and most wedding jobs - you cannot rely upon finding the music you need in the church or chapel you are going to. It's always safer to take your own.
Even in a crematorium or cemetery chapel, a funeral is like a little church service. Unless instructed otherwise, play something as people enter and leave.
It is always VERY USEFUL, given the chance, to check with the officiating minister/priest that you both know what the music is and what tunes are being sung.
For both weddings and funerals, appropriate dress on the part of the organist is always appreciated by clients. You may be hidden as you play, but people are likely to see you arriving and/or departing. Ideally, you shouldn't look out of place if mingling with the guests/mourners.

i Place: HA6 2RP

j Music: The fee stated is for two separate parts: first, a 90-minute rehearsal, time to be arranged, but probably on the afternoon of Sunday 25th March;  second, the actual performance, which will form the final hour of three-hour Good Friday service (the church?s organist will be playing for the first two hours, and you will only be required to arrive at 13:45 to play the Stainer).

As the church is not particularly easy

to get to, transport can be arranged if you can make your way to Northwood tube station.

It is essential that you are familiar with the Stainer as rehearsal time will be limited.  Sorry to be fussy, but please only reply to this advert if you have experience at accompanying a choir (following a conductor), and are familiar with Stainer?s The Crucifixion.
